Proposing Community Events

We warmly invite community members to bring forward ideas for events and activities focused on Meher Baba to be held at Avatar’s Abode.

If you have a new, one-off event focused on Meher Baba that isn’t already on our Events Calendar, the Events Committee can often provide quick approval. In many cases, an events coordinator can be assigned to help guide the organization and coordination of the gathering. Please send the details of your community event proposal to info@avatarsabode.com.au. Small social gatherings and picnics do not require permission.

Personal Events

We welcome personal events (such as memorial services and funerals, weddings & birthdays) that honour Meher Baba and the sanctity of Avatar’s Abode. If you’d like to host a personal gathering, please email info@avatarsabode.com.au with:

  • Estimated number of guests
  • Proposed date(s) and time(s)
  • Names and contact numbers of the event organisers
  • Requested buildings and open spaces
  • Financial considerations (if any)
  • Any resources or equipment you’d like to use.

This information will be reviewed by the Board for approval, taking into account any scheduling overlaps, safety concerns, and insurance requirements. Once approved, a contact person from the Events Committee will be assigned as your main point of contact. A notification of the event details will also be shared with the Avatar’s Abode mailing list. While you’re not required to invite everyone, please remember that anyone who visits Avatar’s Abode during your event should be made to feel welcome.

Submitting Announcements

The communications team at Avatar’s Abode is responsible for sharing information about events and activities. They can be reached at news@avatarsabode.com.au. If you’re submitting an announcement, please aim to do so at least one week in advance.

Please note that all wording may be edited for clarity and conciseness, and content will be formatted to fit our templates. We are happy to work with drafts outlining the main details of the announcement. When sending materials, plain text is preferred. If you are including images, larger JPG files are preferred over thumbnails to ensure the best quality.
