Giving Service at Avatar’s Abode
Since its earliest days, Avatar’s Abode has been maintained by volunteers inspired to serve Meher Baba, creating a lasting culture of community support and dedication.
We are currently in great need of more helping hands. Whether you can contribute a few hours each week or once a month, your involvement will make a meaningful difference. Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back, connect with others, and serve Meher Baba at a place that holds special meaning for us all. New volunteers are always welcome and are provided with induction and work, health, and safety training.
Get Involved
There are many ways to help, including:
- Joining our weeding weekends
- Assisting with cleaning pilgrim accommodations
- Contributing your skills and creativity in planning and running events
- Adopting a regular task as part of our “Adopt-a-Job” program
- Helping with archiving projects.
In addition to these hands-on opportunities, you can also get involved by joining one of the committees and workgroups that keep Avatar’s Abode thriving:
- Anniversary and Spring Sahavas Committees: Organises and runs our major yearly events
- Archives Committee: Preserves and manages precious archival items associated with Meher Baba
- Communication Team: Manages email updates, the website, and social media
- Events Committee: Plans the events timetable at Avatar’s Abode
- Property Management Committee: Oversees day-to-day maintenance and running of the property, supported by several workgroups
- Welcoming and Pilgrim Team: Manages welcoming visitors and pilgrim accommodation.
By becoming part of these committees or workgroups, you can help shape the future of Avatar’s Abode, support its rich heritage, and ensure it remains a welcoming place dedicated to Meher Baba.
